Thinking of switching away from traditional antiperspirants? This guide helps you understand why you might find your perfect match with a natural and organic deodorant.

4 reasons to move away from artificial antiperspirants

The major disadvantages of using a deodorant based on man-made chemicals include:

  • Sweat trying to escape from plugged-up pores can cause irritation and discomfort
  • Inflammation can spread beyond where the antiperspirant was applied
  • The body is unable to eliminate toxins through perspiration
  • The ability to regulate body temperature is reduced

Why natural deodorants are the gentle option

Our natural deodorants are ultra gentle and do not contain pore-clogging aluminium. Instead, they are made with natural actives such as Zinc ricinoleate and Prebiotics which really work.

The safe, natural earth minerals and plant extracts work together in a 3-way action to create the best natural deodorant without the use of pore-clogging aluminium.

Used together with good basic hygiene, all of these offer safe, natural freshness without suppressing the vital function of perspiration.

Chemicals in deodorants

The chemicals in deodorants which prevent bacteria from growing have been linked to health problems ranging from skin irritation and contact dermatitis. Many familiar brands of deodorants contain alcohol and triclosan, and excessive use of spray deodorants have also been linked with more serious problems such as allergic reactions, asthma and breathing difficulties.

Chemicals in antiperspirants

Aluminium chlorohydrate and Aluminium zirconium chlorohydrate are both used in chemical antiperspirants. These are both based on aluminium and can cause skin irritation. Unfortunately, the inflammation they can cause may spread beyond the areas where the antiperspirant is being applied, leading to more general inflammation.

" Aluminium found in antiperspirants can cause inflammation "

Aluminium can cause inflammation and discomfort, and may aggravate conditions such as prickly heat. Research suggests that aluminium-based compounds may be linked to elevated aluminium levels and health problems including Breast cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

Antiperspirants also have another downside – not only can they cause the problems mentioned above, but they also prevent the body from eliminating toxins through perspiration and greatly reduce our ability to regulate body temperature.
